The People & Culture Office is a Kalgoorlie based human resources (HR) consulting company that specialises in developing partnerships with progressive organisations.

Offering a bespoke human resource service. Our services are designed to help organisations achieve a competitive advantage by aligning strategy with people & culture.

We aren’t a cookie cutter, one size fits all service, we will work with each business to identify areas to build culture, enhance performance and develop policies to achieve their organisational goals.

With our capabilities in enhancing people, strategy, and culture we lead local Goldfields organisations, and the wider Australian business community, to build greater employee efficiency, retention & commitment.

The People & Culture Office was created as a response to the change Simone wanted to see in the approach to the management of people & culture; a focus on building the capacity of the business through an inclusive and valued workforce. 

Throughout her career spanning the Local Government, Mining and Not-For-Profit sectors Simone identified that many organisations required HR support but didn’t necessarily have the requirement for a dedicated person employed within their business, or, their HR team required the occasional support of a skilled HR practitioner.

At The People & Culture Office you only pay for the work we undertake for you;  no annual or monthly fees; no contracts; just quality, local, service.


Simone Pickering

Director / Founder

Simone is a human resource professional with close to 20 years experience holding qualifications as a Professional Member (MAHRI) of the Australian HR Institute (AHRI).

Simone’s HR related experience ranges from a Recruitment Advisor through to HR Manager, predominantly in Mining & Trades but she has also worked in the NFP & Local Government sectors as well.

Simone has worked on new mine startups, recruited for FIFO & residential sites throughout the GFC and the boom and developed effective HR processes for hard to resource sectors.

Tiahanna Glasson

HR & Recruitment Coordinator

Tiahanna is an experienced HR & Recruitment Coordinator with skills and experience spanning administration, recruitment & HR Generalist.

Tiahanna has 4 years mining experience including high volume, urgent recruitment for mining labour hire, and has worked in hard to staff NFP industries.

Simone has mentored Tiahanna in her HR career since 2016, and as she continues to develop her knowledge through continuous professional development she will be an asset to our clients.
