Jalygurr – Guwan Aboriginal Corporation is building a talent pool of Educators working towards their Certificate III to join our early years team in Broome – a place where culture, care and purpose come through in the work every single day.
This is the kind of role you grow into.
The kind where what you learn on the job matters just as much as what you bring with you.
Not every centre invests in that.
This one does.
The job
This is an opportunity to step into early childhood education while you’re still learning. You’ll be supported to build your skills in a real environment – working alongside experienced educators, learning through practice, and developing the confidence to take on more over time.
At its core, the role is about creating a space where children feel safe, confident and supported. You’ll be part of the day-to-day rhythm – helping to set up environments, supporting play and learning, and building relationships with children and families.
This isn’t about standing back and watching. You’ll be included, guided and expected to contribute.
You’ll be trusted to:
- support safe, inclusive environments where children feel comfortable and settled
- assist with play-based learning and daily routines
- learn how to observe, document and reflect on children’s development over time
You’ll also be part of the standards that keep the service running well – supervision, safety, teamwork and communication. These matter here.
These roles offer a starting pay rate aligned to your level of qualification, with the ability to increase your take-home pay through salary packaging.
You
You don’t need to know everything yet.
But you do need to care about how you show up.
You’re someone who wants to learn properly – not rush through a qualification, but actually understand what good practice looks like and how to apply it.
You’re likely:
- currently working towards your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education
- reliable, consistent and willing to take direction
- comfortable asking questions and learning from feedback
- able to build rapport with children and speak respectfully with families
- someone who follows through and takes pride in doing things well
Why us
At Jalygurr – Guwan Aboriginal Corporation, you won’t just step into a role – you’ll step into a service that takes development seriously. People are supported, expectations are clear, and learning happens every day through how the team works together.
There’s a strong sense of shared responsibility here. You’ll be guided, but you’ll also be trusted to step up as your capability grows.
Aboriginal culture is embedded into everyday practice, and you’ll learn what culturally responsive care actually looks like – not just in theory, but in how we work with children, families and community.

This is a Talent Pipeline opportunity 🌟
We’re not recruiting for one specific role right now.
We’re building a group of people we know we’d want to bring in when positions open.
If you’re working towards your Certificate III and serious about building your skills in early childhood, this is a way to get on our radar early.
When roles become available, we look to this group first – people who’ve already shown interest, understand how we work, and are aligned with what we’re building here.
It’s a more considered way of hiring.
And a better way to step into the right role, at the right time.
