At Penns Cartage Contractors, we’re the people behind the scenes making the complex, critical, and high-pressure jobs happen – from local deliveries to oversized haulage, when clients need it done right, they come to us.

We’re looking for a practical, organised WHS Advisor to take ownership of safety across our Kalgoorlie operations – someone who knows how to keep things compliant without slowing the business down.

If you’re the kind of person who notices what others miss, keeps systems tight, and makes sure everyone is where they need to be – cleared, compliant, and ready to go – we want to talk to you.

The Job
As our WHS Advisor, you’ll play a key role in keeping our operations running safely and smoothly. Here’s how you’ll spend your day:

  • Managing and maintaining our WHS system (MyOSH), keeping records accurate and up to date
  • Coordinating employee medicals, inductions, and site access so nothing holds up the job
  • Liaising with mine sites, drivers, and internal teams to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Conducting inspections across the yard, workshop, and office, ensuring standards are met and risks are addressed

This role isn’t about sitting behind a desk ticking boxes. It’s about owning safety across the business, staying ahead of requirements, and making sure everything is in place before it becomes a problem.

You
You’re structured, reliable, and take pride in getting things right. You’ll likely have:

  • Formal WHS qualification
  • Strong understanding of the WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020, WHS Regulations, and relevant Codes of Practice.
  • Experience in a WHS, safety, or compliance-focused role
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail – you don’t let things slip
  • Confidence using systems, with MyOSH experience highly regarded

You’re a team player who works well with others, communicates clearly, and builds strong working relationships across the business. You know how to work collaboratively with drivers, workshop staff, and site contacts, keeping things professional, practical, and on track.

WA Driver’s Licence and current Police Clearance required.

Why Us?
We don’t just say we value our people – we show it. At Penns, you’ll step into a role where you’re trusted to make decisions, supported by a down-to-earth team, and rewarded fairly for the skills you bring.

We’re offering $45–$50 per hour based on experience, but we’re open to negotiation if you’re bringing something special to the table.
